San Pedro Mountains ~ Lydia

I have been faithful about taking Baby Cakes photos every month, pat myself on the back for that, yeah me for doing something consistently! This month is the big 7! I should share all the other months too. I take lots of photos, but posting every session I do isn’t going to happen.                                                                                                                                 Me and my husband built this tepee, and be me, I mean me telling him where I wanted it. I did gather most of the branches, that was my contribution to this little tepee that has been in our yard for over a year now. Though the kids say it’s too small I find it super great for a prop/backdrop. I knew it was nap time, but the mood struck and sometimes you just gotta roll with it and throw caution to the wind! I live on the edge! I gathered up some stuff around the house that I thought would go together and dressed baby cakes and we went outside for her 7 month pictures on a wing and a prayer. I had made this little head piece for I don’t even remember what and never used it. I have also used this red knit blanket in more sessions and it’s not even what I bought it for, I need to get some more like it!SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC   SONY DSC  Not sure what is going on with her and her lips, but it was cracking me up!  SONY DSC Bow to me!

My husband of course thought it was pure awesomeness!SONY DSC  SONY DSC  SONY DSC  SONY DSC   SONY DSC Baby L which one-1 I could hang any of the 3 up in my home, but which one do you like most? But I sure do have a thing for an ‘old timey’ feel.

Happy trails!

Santa Fe Mountains ~ Tucker Family

The first time I saw the Santa Fe mountains in their full fall glory I wanted there and then to photograph someone. When I listed off and described potential photo session locations to Nichole I was elated that she choose this spot! I wish it could say it satiated my craving to take pictures there. I try and spend as much time as I can there every fall, hopefully next year it will be to take more family photos…perhaps yours? SONY DSC SONY DSC                        SONY DSCSONY DSC SONY DSC Being woken up from a nap to take pictures isn’t any 4 year olds happy place especially when they don’t like to smile much anyway.  I pulled out every tool in my tool box to get him to smile! This was my last attempt, playing red light green light and it worked! After thinking about it though I have to say I relate to the little man, I’m not one to fake a smile, or anything for that matter. If the only smiles you give are genuine then I say good for him! His parents know him and his personality so they know he wouldn’t be smiling for most the pictures anyway. He is dang cute, and I love it when kids are themselves, smile or not. SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC SONY DSC  One of the hardest things is to not post every picture I give to families. Thank you Tucker family for the honor of allowing me to take your family pictures! I had a great time 🙂 Someone recently asked me how I can handle the craziness of taking family photos. Truthfully I love it, I may stress before a session, but once I start shooting it’s my happy place. I love the dynamics of every family and enjoy spending time with anyone I photograph. I want to add more here, but little bit just woke up from her nap is helping me stay brief Lol! Thanks again Tuckers!
