Most of this lovely family is from out of state. I did the consultation with Susan the matriarch of this stunning group over the phone. I also worked with her DIL who lived here at the time, they moved like 2 days after this session to Michigan. Anyhow it was fun working with Heidi to come up with a location for their mini session. Technically my mind is always on scout mode for potential shoot locations everywhere I go. I just can’t remember them all. So I went weaving through the streets of Albuquerque’s down town and snapped pictures with my phone of potential locations and texted them to her and this is the one she liked best for their family photo shoot. A good choice I think! I love the different elements at play here, the concrete, the stone, the pale red stairs, at this angle the guard rail wasn’t a distraction, but creates good lines and flow. You can even see a touch of the city and the pillars are another fun element. The low wall keeps out what could be possible distractions. After this experience I think I am going to start taking pictures of all potential locations and make some kind of cataloging system so I can show them to clients if I need to. Oh the joy of inspiration and progression!
Such a fun family! You never know what kind of dynamics are going to exist within a large group, especially family 😉 and they were so easy to work with. They were fun, easy going and listened so well! Thank you Harvey family, I’d take your pictures anytime, anywhere!
