What a little angel, the older my kids get the more I appreciate new borns. They are perfectly innocent and pure. I have had the pleasure of photographing this family and some of their extended family and they are all wonderful. Good looks, and big hearts run in their genes. I ❤ this session so much, I saw that about all of my photo sessions I know, but once I photograph you I’ll undoubtedly fall in love with you. Spending time with you getting to you know you, it just happens Lol!
I cannot even tell you how much I love photographing this family. Amber is a force to be reckoned with and I respect the heck out of her, she is one incredible women. All and all they are just a fun family to be around, there is a lot of love and laughter and real moments. Family is so central to our happiness here on this Earth and I love being with families that remind me of that and see it in a special light. The wildflowers were showing off this time of year and I am so glad we got to capture that along with this gorgeous family.
I’m glad I am in the business of making photographs and not putting words together. My words seem to be failing me lately. It’s a good thing a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ve actually said like 30 thousand words!!! Ha take that writers block or whatever you want to call my inability to string words together to make anything good sounding. I was most excited when these lovely ladies were up for a little adventuring! Crazy cliffs that make you_______! Well if you want to see how I put it you’ll have to check out my new instagram page I just started just for Payneless Photograhy. Trust me, you’ll get a good laugh! Okay back to my point, so in our consultation I showed them varying locations around New Mexico and they decided on the Sandbluffs in the El Malpais. Such a heavenly location, and mixed with these three beauties my head almost exploded, no really almost E.X.P.L.O.D.E.D!!! Anytime is a good time to be photographed, but especially when you have big reasons to celebrate! Beauty #1 just graduated with her music degree from UNM and runs a studio and her oldest daughter is going off to college. Whohooo!
When I tell people I’m honored that they had me take their pictures, I’m not just saying that. I feel that way, when someone loves my art and trusts me to capture themselves and their family it’s an honor. I felt really, really honored when Kelly asked if I would take their family photos which included both of their parents. It’s a rare photo indeed that includes both sets of a couples parents and all their kids and grand-kids. Kelly’s husband Brett is my Stake President and I love every opportunity to hear him speak. Last time it was at our Stake General Relief Society Meeting, he talked about 2 Cor. 7-10. That we strive for the highest Gospel standards set forth by the Savior and then when we fall short instead of disparaging because of what we can’t do we instead ponder in gratitude the gap that is filled by His saving grace, He does accept our offerings. It totally makes sense that we have weaknesses, ” and if men come unto me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith in me then will I make weak things become strong unto them.” Ether 12 :27. Anyhow just grateful for inspired leaders and their amazing families. I am grateful for their service.
So grateful for my assistant Carla, these 6 grand-babies had all gotten in the night before from long drives in to celebrate their aunts graduation and were not in the mood to sit still and one poor dear wasn’t feeling well. They all did great though, it’s hard to sit still for more then 30 seconds Lol!
If you click on the above picture to make it bigger you will be able to see what the grandma on the right is giving her grandson…
Hilarious! Love it!
My favorite photos with big groups is always the above, when you just encourage them to let loose.
Most of this lovely family is from out of state. I did the consultation with Susan the matriarch of this stunning group over the phone. I also worked with her DIL who lived here at the time, they moved like 2 days after this session to Michigan. Anyhow it was fun working with Heidi to come up with a location for their mini session. Technically my mind is always on scout mode for potential shoot locations everywhere I go. I just can’t remember them all. So I went weaving through the streets of Albuquerque’s down town and snapped pictures with my phone of potential locations and texted them to her and this is the one she liked best for their family photo shoot. A good choice I think! I love the different elements at play here, the concrete, the stone, the pale red stairs, at this angle the guard rail wasn’t a distraction, but creates good lines and flow. You can even see a touch of the city and the pillars are another fun element. The low wall keeps out what could be possible distractions. After this experience I think I am going to start taking pictures of all potential locations and make some kind of cataloging system so I can show them to clients if I need to. Oh the joy of inspiration and progression!
Such a fun family! You never know what kind of dynamics are going to exist within a large group, especially family 😉 and they were so easy to work with. They were fun, easy going and listened so well! Thank you Harvey family, I’d take your pictures anytime, anywhere!
Me “Hey, babe I took some pictures of Zaya today, come take a look. “Babe “That looks all Game of Thrones!” Me “We don’t watch Game of Thrones!!! “Babe ” We’ll it looks all mid evil.” Me “So you don’t like them?” Babe ” I don’t have to love everything you do.” Me “yeah, but you can still tell if they are good or not.” Such a funny conversation, I had to share. Usually when I show pictures to him we battle over the word “fine” Lol. Oh the difference between men and women and word usage. I had made this crown a while back with the intention to use on my littlest, but it hasn’t happened yet. We were coming home from school and it was snowing so I told Zaya “let me take some pictures of you, you can have an extra 10mins on your Kindle!” Shameless I know, but it works, this kid hates cold. Of course, by the time we got outside it stopped snowing. The past few years I have really come to love taking pictures in the snow for obvious reasons, I hope.
Being a mid evil queen is exhausting, oh the headaches…
If we had more time I would have had her change her dress and tweaked a few things, but if we went back inside she wouldn’t have come back out. So grateful for this beautiful daughter of mine she brings me so much joy.
This clip comes to mind when I think of “AlassKa!” and I also wonder if all towns in Alaska have one guy who has 10 jobs including entertainer, wink harharhar!? This beauty was 3 when me and my hubs got married. The first thing the chill and beautimous Abi (14) asked us like 20 minutes after we said our I do’s, of course put up to it by her devious 😉 mom was ” when am I going to have more cousins?” I was too out of it for the comment to sink in until later Lol! Good thing cause I think I would have turned 10 shades of red! It’s crazy how fast time goes and how quickly time flies especially when you don’t get to see them too often, such a joy for me to be able to take these photos. It’s a good thing her preferred wardrobe is basketball shorts and big tee shirts, I think that’s what I will be buying Zaya from here on out! It’s hard to cover up this much pretty, but it helps a smidge and as a Mom I’ll take what I can get 😉
This is 12 year old Clare. It’s neat how different siblings can look from one another, brown eyes and hair, blonde and blue eyed. They were so different in personality too, Abi was smiley and easy going, Clare was more like I would be…I’m gonna make you work for it. You want me to look like me then you’re gonna have to pull some tricks out of your tool box! Clare is a more serious, like me, but has loads of personality. She also seems to need to feel in control…what didn’t know I was a psychoanalyst ha! Well normally I wouldn’t do this break down, but it’s fun for me to see my nieces personalities, we’ll see if they think I pegged them or not!
My husband saw this and said she’s giving a way to grown up look there, well yes it’s intense, but not because it had anything to do with trying to be “sexy” she was putting a spell on me or something silly! She’s all about pranks and silliness, and will make a great attorney some day, we won’t go into the interrogation you gave me Clare 😉
Thanks Frozen Fry’s for letting your picture taking nutter of an aunt take some photos of you! I truly hope you both more fully recognize how beautiful you are after seeing these ❤
